6 Kickstarter Maker Tools Active in September 2026, Ranked by Dated Funding Snapshots

HeyGears G1X desktop fabrication system

September's maker campaigns span three different jobs: getting artwork into a file, putting color onto an object and cutting a part from stock. Start with the operation your workshop needs, then compare machines that perform it.

BackerRock Signal

The six campaigns recorded an estimated US$37,473,734 across their dated snapshots and 10,100 campaign backers. HeyGears and Morpho together account for 76.3% of the funding.

What the Numbers Say About September 2026 Maker Tools

The largest campaign, HeyGears, had 48.4% of the funding in this group. Morpho placed second; both projects use color printing on objects. InfiMaker placed third with 840 backers, fewer than the 1,552 who supported fourth-place LightMake. Funding and audience size tell different stories when the tools carry different pledge levels.

For a workshop comparing these projects, the first question is which job needs doing: printing the part, coloring its surface or machining it from stock.

All six original campaign periods overlapped September. Figures are cumulative and reflect the observation dates shown. BackerRock converted HKD at the November 2 ECB rates of USD 1.1216 and HKD 8.8002 per euro. Backer counts may include the same person across campaigns.

HeyGears G1X

HeyGears G1X

Start with the output you want. A full-color three-dimensional part and a graphic printed onto a surface are different jobs. Ask for a sample of each on the material you plan to use.

Campaign period: Jul 23 - Sep 11, 2026. View the official HeyGears G1X campaign.

Morpho

Morpho

Printing directly onto a finished object changes the setup work. Check how your blank will be held in position and whether its surface needs preparation before committing to a run.

Campaign period: August 20–October 14. View the official Morpho campaign.

InfiMaker K1

InfiMaker K1

A five-axis desktop CNC is useful when turning a part by hand would interrupt the cut. Compare the fixture, cutter reach and clearances for one actual part before choosing a configuration.

Campaign period: Aug 11 - Sep 26, 2026. View the official InfiMaker K1 campaign.

LightMake L4

LightMake L4

Four print heads give colors separate paths. The workshop question is how often your own files change color and how much space the purge arrangement takes on the bed.

Campaign period: August 31–October 15. View the official LightMake L4 campaign.

MIRA X series

MIRA X series

Choose the material and operation first. Engraving a mark and cutting through a sheet place different demands on a laser. Verify the exact model, enclosure and extraction configuration in the reward.

Campaign period: September 29–October 29. View the official MIRA X series campaign.

ScanMax 320

ScanMax 320

A paper drawing can enter a digital workflow without becoming a fabrication-ready file. Check scale against a known dimension and inspect the outline in your design software before cutting a part.

Campaign period: August 18–October 2. View the official ScanMax 320 campaign.

Choosing between three workshop processes

For a printed enclosure, start with geometry. LightMake L4 addresses multi-color filament printing; HeyGears describes a workflow that also addresses surface color. If you already own the object and need to decorate it, Morpho belongs on a different shortlist. Ask each creator to show the same design on the material you actually use.

A drawing, an engraving and a machined part have different tolerances. ScanMax captures the drawing. MIRA X uses a laser to mark or cut material. InfiMaker removes material with a cutter. Check the dimensions of a scanned file, test the mark on scrap, or verify fixture clearance before making a full part.

Frequently asked questions

When were the funding figures recorded?

Each row gives its observation date. The figures cover cumulative campaign pledges observed on that date, including later activity where reflected by Kickstarter. September refers to the original campaign period overlapping the month.

What should a small workshop compare first?

Choose a representative job and ask about its full path from file preparation to cleanup. Include fixtures, consumables, ventilation and software in the comparison.
