The GRAnaREC mid-layer system:

Five years ago we launched the original GRAnaREC mid-layer, a jacket that re-wrote the weight-to-warmth ratio by integrating graphene into recycled polyester.
In 2024 our next version introduced Weather Adaptive Insulation™ (W.A.I.™), using aerogel tubes that expand in cold and contract as things warm up, creating a mid-layer that actually adapts to changing conditions. The demand was overwhelming, it sold out in weeks.
Now we’re expanding the range with two spin-offs: the ultra-light GRAnaREC AIR and the expedition-ready GRAnaREC APEX. Together with the V2 they form a modular mid-layer system covering everything from feather-light agility to full-on protection.
And yes, as all our gear, they include a lifetime guarantee because we believe true sustainability means creating gear that lasts.
KEY Problem Solved: Weight to Warmth ratio.

In most mid-layers you trade weight for warmth. More insulation means more grams, and when you are carrying that extra bulk you begin to compromise mobility, comfort and versatility. That is why we developed our revolutionary GRAPHINSULATE™ fill that blends graphene thermoregulation with aerogel insulation deep inside the fibres of the fill. Graphene is an advanced thermal conductor that regulates heat, while aerogel offers one of the lowest thermal conductivities of any insulation material. The result is a mid-layer that delivers unparalleled warmth for its weight. Because the fill is fully synthetic it retains its loft and insulating power even when wet — unlike down, which collapses when damp and loses performance

Our Fix: Two Mid‑Layers, Two Extremes.

The Tech.

Graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice. When integrated into synthetic insulation, it creates tiny air pockets that trap heat and distribute it evenly across your body. Unlike down, GraphInsulate™ retains its loft when wet. Incorporating aerogel—the lightest solid known—further improves insulation efficiency. The AIR’s 30 gr hybrid yarn blends graphene and aerogel to deliver warmth at an unprecedented weight, while the V2 and APEX combine 80 g GraphInsulate™ fill with aerogel tubes in the W.A.I.™ system.
Aerogel is 99 % air. In the W.A.I.™ system, aerogel‑filled tubes are sewn into the jacket. When the temperature drops, the aerogel contracts, causing the tubes to inflate and create extra loft. As the temperature rises, the aerogel expands, deflating the tubes to reduce insulation. This automatic adjustment keeps you comfortable across a wide range of climates.
