RevoPoint POP 4 Deep-Dive: AI-Powered Scanning and Hybrid Light Technology
The world of accessible 3D digitization is evolving at a rapid pace. For years, the trade-off between precision and portability has been a significant barrier for enthusiasts and professionals alike. The RevoPoint POP 4 3D Scanner enters the market to dismantle these limitations. By fusing a dual-light hybrid system with next-generation AI targeting, it offers an unprecedented combination of accuracy, speed, and ease of use for both desktop and field scanning.

The Hybrid Light System: Blue Laser Meets VCSEL NIR
At the heart of the POP 4 is its proprietary hybrid light architecture. Unlike single-source scanners that struggle with difficult surfaces, the POP 4 integrates both a Blue Laser system and a VCSEL NIR (Near-Infrared) structured-light system. This dual-engine approach allows the device to effortlessly capture dark, shiny, or flat materials—such as black automotive rims or reflective trophies—without the need for messy scanning sprays or adhesive markers. The Blue Laser mode delivers exceptional speed (up to 2 million points per second at 105 fps), while the VCSEL mode provides reliable, high-contrast tracking at up to 30 fps for complex geometry.

AI Targeting: Real-Time Object Recognition
One of the most innovative features of the POP 4 is its integration of real-time AI processing. Utilizing an advanced pipeline of Image Encoders, Prompt Encoders, and Mask Decoders, the scanner can automatically identify the target object and filter out irrelevant background noise. More impressively, the AI recognizes and hides the user's fingers in real-time, enabling "handheld freedom." This means you can simply hold an object and rotate it, letting the software build a clean, seamless mesh without manual cropping or post-processing.
Outdoor Capability and 0.03mm Precision
While most high-precision 3D scanners are confined to controlled studio lighting, the POP 4 is built for the real world. Powered by high-intensity VCSEL projectors, it can operate in direct sunlight up to 100,000 Lux. This opens the door to scanning large outdoor objects like sculptures, vehicles, and environmental features. Despite its portability and outdoor readiness, the device maintains an incredible accuracy of 0.03mm, supported by up to 5 million points per second in marker-free capture mode.
Professional Software Ecosystem
Hardware is only half the equation. The POP 4 is backed by the robust Revo Scan 6 software ecosystem, which spans Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. For advanced users, Revo Design offers mesh editing and scan-to-CAD modeling tools, while Revo Measure provides PTB-certified metrology algorithms for verifiable, high-accuracy measurements. The scanner supports a wide array of industry-standard output formats, including PLY, OBJ, STL, ASC, 3MF, GLTF, FBX, and even the emerging 3D Gaussian Splatting (.splat) format for lifelike visual models.
